All students* must audition for band placement each Fall and Spring, including incoming members!
*Percussion has separate, in-person auditions. See section below.

WIND AUDITIONS
Placement auditions for wind players for Fall 2023 take place on Google Classroom and are due Friday May 19, 2023 at 11:59PM.

Step 1) Click here for the audition packet. Make sure to scroll to the correct music for your instrument, and note the dynamic, musical, and tempo markings. All music is required except the excerpts with a * symbol. These are highly recommended if you want to be considered for varsity placement.

Step 2) Join our google classroom using your school email. Click here to join our class or use class code smikxeq.

Step 3) Record your audition videos on your smart phone or chromebook. Your video must include an audible metronome, so make sure to practice with one! We also must be able to see your face and hands in your video (no ceilings or foreheads!).  Submit your video auditions to the google classroom by the due date above. You can record as many times as you like - we want you to submit your very best!

PERCUSSION AUDITIONS
Placement auditions for percussionists for Fall 2023 take place through camps and an in-person audition day, all at Crockett HS.

Camp Dates (all at Crockett HS Band Hall from 5:00PM-7:00PM)

Weds April 12
Audition day is Saturday, April 15 from 9:00AM-12:00PM.
All camps are from 5:00-7:00PM (we will start at 5:00PM sharp!). Students need to bring any drum sticks, mallets, and a practice pad. Students can be dropped off at the band hall entrance behind Crockett (see map).
